About
Narratives Collective creates intimate art experiences that celebrate the personal nature of encountering exceptional art. Through thoughtfully curated exhibitions in private spaces, we craft environments where artists' stories can be fully appreciated and understood.
Our exhibition series begins with 'Narratives of the Diaspora,' featuring contemporary Nigerian artists Ibe Ananaba and Kemi Sijuwade. Join us in experiencing art in its most personal form.

Narratives of the Diaspora highlights the importance of representation, drawing from my Nigerian heritage (being bred in Aba and having lived in Lagos) as I explore the evolving role of contemporary Afro-pop culture. Now residing in Canada, my work reflects the multifaceted nature of Black identity, including attributes of resilience, and collective strength across borders. By reimagining figuration as a means of visual storytelling, this body of work transcends social barriers, bridging my proud Nigerian roots against all odds with my experiences in the diaspora. Through this lens, I contribute to global conversations about identity and heritage, centering the legacies of my Nigerian/African
identity within new cultural contexts.

Kemi Sijuwade
KemisArt, a collection of thought-provoking artworks, emerged during the pandemic lockdown of 2020. Though Kemi always had a flair for art, she never truly explored this creative side until the world fell silent, allowing her to finally hear her inner voice. Each artwork in her collection holds deeper meaning beneath its colorful and bright palette, with the true nature of these pieces often revealed through their titles.
